HUESTON, PA — Equality has taken another step forward in the shady evolution of color politics. Puce, the frequently abused little color that had no voice, has been elevated to new heights in the color world, largely due to the efforts of a dedicated group of folks who call themselves The Coalition for the Advancement of Puce (CAP) and the famous design team at LIMA Design.

Last year CAP enlisted the help of the famed LIMA studio to organize a pro-puce campaign. LIMA’s logo and clever campaign materials put CAP on the map. Then, last November, thousands of voters turned out to support the CAP-initiated Puce Act, which guaranteed enforcement of puce abuse penalties. Thanks to LIMA Design’s influential campaigns, two-thirds of Americans voted in favor of the Puce Act and the humble color has gone from widespread discrimination to dazzling color fame.

Now, the clever people at LIMA have designed a website for the design industry exclusively dedicated to puce. Launched only two months ago, the site has reportedly received 10,000 hits per day from all over the globe. Their glory was almost cut short this week when widespread rumors started to surface which claimed CAP website stats were fabricated.

Hugh Brown, one of the original founders of CAP, held a press conference yesterday to dispel these rumors. “The statistics we released to the press are true and verifiable,” Brown told us. “I frankly told the press that we believe the false rumors were started, or at least fueled, by persons affiliated with the SNUB [Society Needs Ubiquitous Beige] organization. This group has been associated with attacks of this nature in the past, although they have not claimed responsibility for this incident”

The uprising against the beige camp seems inevitable. SNUB headquarters has already been overwhelmed with protesters from all corners of the world since Brown went public with his statement less than one day ago. Designers worldwide are blogging about their personal boycotts of beige and vowing to use puce. “I would love puce to be the new black,” says fashion designer Trevor Calvin, “I am incorporating it into my entire spring line!”

Because of the website and the efforts of CAP and LIMA, the elimination of puce abuse seems to have become a passionate international cause, and puce has now been labeled the “Cinderella” color of all time. It’s probably safe to say, the fairy godmother couldn’t have predicted this!

BELL, FL – Social networking sites are plentiful these days and most people are happy dabbling around in them. But some people are more than happy. About everything. These are who are downright jolly… all the time. Now, thanks to a small company in Florida called MirthCo, Inc., these merry souls (those that are single, anyway) have their own online social networking site.

The site, called “Jingle”, is the first of its kind. It’s a jovial online environment where CF-singles (those whom have been “confirmed jolly” by the gateway survey each applicant must take to gain access to the site) can be themselves without feeling out-of-place. “It’s not generally a very cheerful world we live in these days,” says Sonny Glee, a new member of the Jingle™ community. “This is a place where we can freely be happy without being ridiculed. It’s like a permanent Christmas feeling. And it’s nice that we can meet other singles with similarly cheery outlooks on life.”

The vice-president of marketing for MirthCo, Anna Polly, reports that the site signed up over 9,000 members in the first two hours after it went live on November 1st of this year. She attributes the initial success of the pre-launch marketing campaign to a small Boston-based communications design firm the company outsourced the work to called LIMA Design. “The people at LIMA are among the most talented I’ve worked with and, just as important, they are a cheery sort! So delightful to interact with! This is something we value here at MirthCo!”

LIMA’s Jingle logo, after debuting only one month ago, has already been nominated for a HaLoW award (Happy Logos of the World) and is reportedly also in the running for a BOSSY award (Best Online Singles’ Site of the Year).

LAST CHANCE, CO – Everyone is talking about he ubiquitous “gnome retirement” billboards for HALO (Home for Abused Lawn Ornaments). So much so that Grace Scott, the founder of the non-profit sanctuary, has been bombarded with inquiries about which ad agency came up with the clever campaign. “Hiring a huge ad agency was never a consideration,” says Scott. “We have been – and still are – working with the small design studio that created our logo in the mid-1990s. Their talent has made us what we are today, and I wouldn’t want to work with anyone else.”

She is referring to the Boston-based studio named LIMA Design, which used to be known as “the little studio with big vision”. Today, they are not only known as the creative brains behind this incredibly popular HALO campaign, but are also well-known for the blockbuster success they have had with promoting the airline LIITA (most recently making news for their “pink planes”).

Whatever is next in the creative queue for HALO is being kept under wraps at the moment. When asked, Ms. Scott’s only reply was, “hang on to your lawn jockeys… it’s gonna be big!”

“It’s brilliant,” says veteran LIITA pilot Mitchell Mount. “The planes are much more visible to other aircraft, air traffic control towers, and flying wildlife. I expect our safety record to be improved immediately,” boasts Mount.

Another successful branding move just may propel this cinderella-story company into airline infamy… ain’t love grand?

CHICKASAW COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI – The Society for the Protection of Adults who Still Believe in Santa (SPASBS) has just released it’s new ad campaign for the 2008 holiday season. The ads, created by world-famous LIMA Design, will be featured on billboards, mall kiosks, Nutcracker Ballet playbills, and eggnog cartons across the country.
In previous years the society has underplayed the rather nerdy profile of the majority it’s members, but LIMA has managed to elevate this particular aspect of the society’s membership demographic to a new, more trendy level.
The new ad concept comes just on the heels of the logo unveiling in the Fall.

BELLS, TEXAS – The growing popularity of  St. Nicholas Hospital,  the medical facility specializing in seasonal injuries that opened its second facility last year in downtown Bells, is due in part to the new ad campaign launched statewide last month.

The new ads, created by none other than LIMA Design – the prestigious  studio that also developed the St. Nicholas logo in 1999 – have also been launched in Hallelujah, CA around the original facility location. The new slogan — “for care, lively and quick, come to Saint Nick!” — is currently being written into a jingle for radio commercials.

The response has been overwhelming, according to hospital spokesperson Klaus Noel, Jr. “Patients have been telling us how isolated they felt in the past when they were suffering from a seasonal injury… they tried to shut themselves in and heal at home for fear of being taken to a non-seasonal hospital. Now, because of the campaign, these people know that they have somewhere to go.”

The hospital plans to extend the campaign well into January to reach out to people who may sustain injuries from taking down Christmas trees, such as pine splinters or sap poisoning.

The Society for the Protection of Adults who Still Believe in Santa, with the help of its sister group the EPA (Elf Protectors Anonymous), has unveiled its new logo well ahead of the busy holiday season. 

“This year, more than ever, we needed a strong presence… the believer abuse has risen to unprecedented heights and we are expecting it to get worse as the Santa season heats up,” says Society President Joy Krampus. The rollout of the new logo will begin on local ads around town near the SPASBS headquarters in Jolly, Mississippi. “By the end of October, the goal is to have the logo and 1-800 number plastered all over Chickasaw County. By mid-November, we hope to go national,” anticipates Krampus.

The logo itself was the creation of the world-reknown LIMA Design studio in Boston, MA. One of the co-owners of the studio lived with a believer for years and witnessed firsthand the cruel abuse inflicted upon her relative. Years later, when she saw a SPASBS meeting announcement on her local public access channel, she decided to offer the services of the studio to support this worthy cause.

“Now, thanks to LIMA Design, we have a more tangible expression of the Society’s purpose. We are hoping this gives our cause more validity and will therefore enable us to launch an ad campaign in time for Christmas,” says Krampus.

The Persons Injured by Falling Ornaments Organization known as PIFOO had already gained worldwide acclaim, albeit brief, when the famous actor/director Spike Knee was nearly impaled by a falling oversized hook at a tree lighting in North Star, Nebraska. The Nance County PIFOO branch was hailed with praise for its effective rehabilitation of Mr. Knee, but the exposure brought attention to the fact that the organization sorely lacked a logo.

This year, and in time for the ornament season, PIFOO proudly revealed the logo masterpiece LIMA created for them. With any luck, another celebrity will get beaned with a ball or hit with a hook this year so the new logo can get some more exposure and expand operations beyond the state of Nebraska.

HALLELUJAH JUNCTION, LASSEN COUNTY, CA – When Saint Nicholas Hospital almost had to close its doors last year because 78% of seasonal injuries were being brought to regular hospitals and emergency facilities, the hospital board sought help. “We had to get the word out to medical professionals, ambulance drivers, and the general public that seasonal injuries require special care,” explains board chairman Dr. Lana Cain.

The hospital hired the famous Boston-based design studio, LIMA Design, to help represent them in a more visually effective way. Thank to the remarkably simple and impactful logo design LIMA developed, the hospital is thriving and hopes to open a second facility soon in Grayson County, Texas in the town of Bells.

VERNON COUNTY, WISCONSIN – The trendy transportation service called Love Is In The Airlines (LIITA®) is on a roll these days, with new love hubs in Valentine Creek, Maryland; Loveladies, New Jersey; Love Lake, Missouri; and the insanely popular Romance, Wisconsin. A new pre-Valentine’s Day mail campaign, featuring postcards from these popular destinations, was developed by the talented Boston-based studio LIMA Design – the very same design studio who created the famous LIITA logo in 1995.

The Romance, Wisconsin postcard spotlights the Mystique Motel. Jebb Hart, owner of the establishment since 1962, says business has already tripled since the mailers debuted last week. “When LIMA came to me with their photo crew I sent them straight up to the ‘Grand Suite’… it’s the fanciest we have, and I knew it would make a lasting impression as a postcard feature.” Apparently Mr. Hart was right: the Grand Suite is booked solid through March.
